Hurricane Information from City Hall


The City of Beaufort is committed to keeping all of our citizens as best informed as possible during this event.  We are highly recommending that you do not wait until evacuation orders for Saturday.  Get a jump start and possibly avoid some delays. According to the National Weather Service, Hurricane Irma remained a powerful Category 5 storm over the Atlantic Ocean moving west-northwest as of 5:00pm today.  At this time NO evacuation order for Beaufort County has been issued, but residents and guests are encouraged to leave ahead of mandatory evacuation as evacuation is expected to start Saturday morning. 

We will continue to closely monitor Hurricane Irma and we will keep you updated on any developments. For all Beaufort County notifications regarding this storm, please go to www.nixle.com or text your zip code to 888777 to sign up to receive the latest updates.

Please Note:City Hall will be closed on Friday, September 8 due to Hurricane Irma. Any additional closure dates, if applicable, will be posted on the City of Beaufort website.
The City will be updating the website and facebook page regularly with announcements.
